Kimon Alevizos
Mr. Kimon Alevizos graduated from the University of Patras, Greece with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2022, where he first came into contact with the field of polymer chemistry. He then worked as a quality control analyst in the paints company Chrotex S.A. in Athens, Greece for over 1 year. In 2024, he joined the Double Master’s program jointly hosted by the University of Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the University of Bordeaux (UBx). During the first year of his master’s studies he worked on deep eutectic solvents, completing his first-year thesis titled “Enzyme-mediated ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone with biocompatible deep eutectic solvents.”, under the supervision of Professor Ana Beloqui and Dr. Matias Picchio.
Driven by a strong interest in green chemistry, he joined the SusBioComp group for his second-year thesis. He is currently working on the use of DES in the processing of biomass-derived biocomposites under the supervision of Dr. Danila Merino.
